BA appoints new head of consumer sales
British Airways has named Chris Rankin as its new head of consumer sales replacing Simon Brooks.
Rankin, who previously worked at Trust House Forte, Qantas, Cruise 1st and Air New Zealand, will join the company on September 3.
He will be responsible for the airline’s leisure sales revenue in the UK and Ireland, managing the relationships between British Airways and its leisure sales partners and trade bodies.
Richard Tams, head of UK & Ireland sales at British Airways, said: "We’re delighted that Chris is joining the team. He has an excellent background in the travel industry, with both great airline and agency experience which will be invaluable to the role."
Chris Rankin, said: "I can’t wait to get started at British Airways. It’s such an exciting brand and with so much investment going into new aircraft, cabins and services it’s a great time to join. I’ll be making it my first job to get out and meet our partners."
