BA cancels two flights ‘for security reasons’
British Airways has cancelled two flights – to Washington DC and Riyadh – because of “security fears”. The services are Sunday’s BA 223 from Heathrow to Washington, and BA263 to Riyadh on Monday. The online news provider Ananova quotes a BA spokesman as saying: “Following advice from the Government we have cancelled the two flights due to security reasons. We take our lead from the Government as to what action to take.” BA reportedly told ITV.com that 184 people were booked on to the Washington flight and 149 to Riyadh. The passengers will be re-booked on alternative flights or given refunds.
