BA confirms cabin crew arrests
British Airways has confirmed that seven cabin staff have been suspended on suspicion that they tried to take miniature bottles and bags of peanuts from a flight.
Newspaper reports say nine members of staff were stopped after leaving a flight from New York to Manchester, as they walked through the ‘nothing-to-declare’ customs channel at the UK airport.
Officers reportedly found miniature spirit bottles worth around £300, and seven cabin crew members were arrested on suspicion of theft. The group have reportedly been cautioned by police and will not face criminal charges, but have been suspended by the carrier.
A BA spokesman this morning told News From Abroad: “Seven crew members have been suspended on full pay pending an internal investigation.”
