BA flight lands safely after losing a wheel on takeoff

A British Airways flights flew more than 5,000 miles with a missing wheel.

A wheel was shown falling off just after takeoff at Las Vegas Harry Reid Airport.

It was able to continue and land safely in London Heathrow.

The incident was caught on a live streaming video feed at the airport.

“British Airways flight BA274 lost one of its main landing gear wheels. The separation of the right rear wheel from the A350-1000 was captured on our automated live stream,” said Flightradar24.

The wheel fell about 15 seconds after takeoff and was recovered near the runway.

All passengers and crew were unharmed, and no damage was caused to airport property, a LAS airport spokesperson said.

British Airways has not yet released an official response.
