BA keen to go back to court
Almost 200 short-haul flights and 28 long-haul flights that were meant to take off on Tuesday were cancelled, with further disruption set for today, BA’s third day of a five-day strike.
The numbers were gleaned from the online departure boards as the carrier refused to confirm exactly which flights had not taken off.
BA says that it is flying around 70% of its typical loads for this time of year and is meeting its aims of flying more than half of short-haul flights and 60% of long-haul flights out of Heathrow.
The carrier looks set to return to the courts in a further effort to stop walk outs, just days after the injunction it was granted to block strike action was overturned. The airline based its last effort on balloting improprieties and said this would be the basis of its next outing in the courts.
