BA marketing director to speak at ITM event

The Institute of Travel Management (ITM) has confirmed that British Airways director of marketing Martin George will be among the keynote speakers for April’s conference.

ITM executive director Loraine Holdcroft told TravelMole that while Mr George would probably face some questions about the airline’s recent changes to the Fresh Approach renumeration scheme, there would not be a “huge outcry” from travel managers about the reductions in short haul payments. She said: “While ultimately it will get passed on to the corporates it really is more of an issue for agents who don’t have their clients on management or transaction fees.”

Other confirmed speakers at the ITM event include Professor Paul Wilkinson, director of the centre for the study of terrorism and political violence at the University of St Andrews and Matthew Valencia, business editor at The Economist.

This year’s conference takes place at the St Andrews Bay Hotel in Fife from April 10-12. For further details see the ITM conference website.
