BA shares rise on traffic figures

There were mixed fortunes for travel and tourism shares yesterday as London’s equity markets pushed ahead.

The FTSE 100 index added 19.8 points to end the day at 4902.3, while the FTSE 250 did even better, gaining 46.7 points to close at 6970.7.

British Airways did well, gaining 6.5p to close at 253.5p, after reporting positive traffic figures for April.
