BA to offload 757s
British Airways is to sell 11 of its 15 Boeing 757 aircraft for cargo conversion.
The aircraft are to leave the airline’s mainline fleet between 2010-2012.
They will be replaced in the airline’s short haul fleet by Airbus A320s.
Four Boeing 757s operated by the airline’s all-business class transatlantic subsidiary OpenSkies will be retained.
Director of strategy and business units Robert Boyle said: “Replacing the Boeing 757s will give us both environmental and cost benefits.”
