BA to restart short-haul ticket sales from Heathrow
British Airways’ current suspension of short-haul ticket sales will end today
BA said it won’t further extend the stop on new short-haul bookings from Heathrow.
It says it can manage new ticket sales within Heathrow’s current passenger cap.
Sales had been suspended for the past two weeks
BA could still ‘take targeted action to limit the number of seats or fares available if necessary on certain flights.’
Heathrow Airport has imposed a cap of 100,000 departing passengers until September 11.
Like other airports, Heathrow had been impacted by short staffing of ground crew and baggage handlers.
The cap has brought ‘better, more reliable journeys’ Heathrow CEO John Holland-Kaye said.
BA will ‘continue to work with Heathrow to provide certainty for our existing customers.’
