Bahamas escape hurricane damage
Tourism facilities in most of the 700 Bahamas islands had only minimal property damage from the recent hurricanes with the exception of Grand Bahama.
Power outages at Grand Bahama Island closed a handful of resorts. Grand Bahama Airport remained closed.
But Nassau International Airport was fully operational and cruise lines have returned normal service into the Port of Nassau.
The destination’s leading tourist islands of Nassau/Paradise Island were fully operational within a week of the last storm, Frances, according to tourist officials.
The Out Islands of Harbour Island, Eleuthera, Spanish Wells, Exuma, Bimini, Andros and Abado reported minimal damage with most tourism facilities returning to normal. Reservations are being accepted.
