Bali police continue terror manhunt

Australians have again been warned to stay away from Bali after the killing of five alleged terrorists on the Indonesian resort island.

The federal government’s Smart Traveller website urges Australians to reconsider their need to travel to Bali.

It said terrorists were still at large and might be planning attacks that could take place at any time, especially against Western targets.

Indonesian police said the five who were killed by a crack anti-terrorist squad on Sunday were believed to have as one of their targets a bar popular with young Australians, La Vida Loca in Seminyak.

They also warn that they are still seeking others whom they believe were involved in the latest Bali plot.

Umar Patek, who is alleged to have made the bombs that destroyed Paddy’s Pub and the Sari Club in the 2002 Bali bombings, is currently on trial in Jakarta.
