Barrhead launches CAA Trust Fund
Barrhead Travel claims to have become the first Civil Aviation Authority-accredited body to begin placing client monies in a CAA Trust Fund.
The change in procedure has been implemented two weeks ahead of the CAA mandatory deadline of May .
Barrhead commercial finance director Sue Jarvis said: "Thanks to the technology available to us at Barrhead Travel, recently implemented processes and procedures are now so streamlined that it was evident that we’d be ahead of the pack when it came to implementation.
"We embraced the changes from the CAA and had a well-planned strategy to ensure that we exceeded the deadline by quite a margin."
Chief executive Sharon Munro added: "Customer protection and security is always front of mind at Barrhead Travel. We decided to fast-track the Trust Fund to allow us to use it as quickly as possible.
"The new procedure ring-fences our customers’ money and provides increased protection. We made it a company priority and I’m pleased to be able to roll this out weeks in advance of the CAA’s deadline."
