Beam me up, Scotty, to geek heaven
Small town Huntsville, Ala., is not only a playground for science lovers and other geeks and nerds but it is also hosting wookiees and storm troopers in its Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination debut.
The world-renowned exhibit is coming to the home of the US Space and Rocket Center this summer. Huntsville will be one of only eight museums hosting it.
The US city also offers over 15 aviation and space programs including astronaut training for children and space programs involving entire families.
But other more down-to-earth attractions include the Huntsville Botanical Gardens where visitors can walk under the shade of century-old dogwood trees. In the spring, the gardens are filled with butterflies in one of North America’s largest open air butterfly habitats.
