Bet on it: Playboy coming back

Saturday, 20 Sep, 2011 0

Most of the famous Playboy Clubs popular both with residents and tourists closed in 1998 though the then financially struggling company licnsed out its brand for a few clubs worldwide. But they’re coming back, at least in Chicago.

Attorney Tom Morgan got some investors to open a new club in Chicago next year, says the Chicago Tribune.

"We think the time is now for this," said Morgan, according to the Tribune. "We think the Chicago market is going to react very favorably to what we're going to offer."

The club is not intended as an escape for men, Morgan said.

"We're not talking about creating an old men's club, where guys can go after work and have a cigar and a scotch and women stay home," Morgan said. "This is about men and women looking to connect in a safe and fun and sophisticated environment."

The club, like its predecessors, will have fine dining and Bunnies, but the Chicago version won’t have one thing that draws people into the three newest worldwide clubs: gambling.
