Bigger attendance expected for AITEX 2007
SIEM REAP – The Angkor International Tourism Exchange (AITEX), which made a successful debut last year in Cambodia’s Heritage City of Siem Reap, will return this year with a bigger attendance.
The show from 1-3 October will again be held at Angkor COEX, Siem Reap-Angkor. Last year the successfully attracted hosted buyers from all over the world, 75% of which came from Europe, America and Asia Pacific, demonstrating the wide audience that AITEX captures.
AITEX 2007 expects to attract over 300 sellers from local and overseas NTOs, travel agents, hotels, airlines and other related-tourism businesses. Over 250 buyers and 50 media from around the world will also be invited.
The show is organised by the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia in collaboration with the Apsara Authority, Siem Reap Provincial Authority, Cambodia Association of Travel Agents and Cambodia Hotel Association
A spokesperson from the AITEX 2007 Secretariat told TravelMole the show’s main objectives are:
• to introduce the travel products and travel services from the Asia-Pacific region to both buyers sellers from around the world.
• to encourage bilateral business, travel, trade and investments between partner countries and explore possible joint venture opportunities.

“AITEX is also a good opportunity for both buyers and sellers to increase their market share and buying/ selling potential as well as gain access either in the international scene or the Indochina region.” he added.
