Birmingham airport strike called off today
Strike action planned for today at Birmingham airport has been cancelled.
But the union Amicus is still threating industrial action which would shut the airport over Christmas.
The airport said discussions are continuing over the porposed strike dates of December 8, 10, 12, 19, 24, 26, 31 and January 6.
Airlines are monitering the situation. Flybe said it was working on a contigency plan to do everything possible to minimise distruption should the airport be forced to close.
