Blackpool to host Tourism Society
The Tourism Society has chosen Blackpool as the destination for its 2019 Tourism Symposium.
The event will take place in the autumn of 2019, on dates to be confirmed, at Blackpool’s new Winter Gardens Conference Centre opening in summer next year.
The Tourism Society’s newly elected Chairman, Kevin Kaley, said: "I am delighted that Blackpool has kindly offered to host the 2019 Tourism Symposium.
"There is no doubt that the resort will continue to grow in popularity following its extensive regeneration programme over the past five years.
"Blackpool is set to welcome several new branded hotels during the next two years and represents an outstanding example of how a destination’s tourism economy can be transformed."
Blackpool Council deputy leader Gillian Campbell said: "The Tourism Society’s Symposium will provide an excellent opportunity for us to not only showcase the superb facilities on offer at the new Winter Gardens Conference Centre but also the new accommodation offer and direct transport links."
Plans are already underway to attract top speakers from both international and domestic tourism markets for the 2019 Symposium and further details will be disclosed over the next few months.
