Blue and yellow holidays and lost teddy bears
‘Alphabet’ is the word on everyone’s lips this week as Google announced its new parent company and an organisational restructure. Currently Youtube, Search and Ads will still fall under Google, while side projects such as Calico, a project to increase human longevity, will move alongside it and come under the Alphabet umbrella.
Rail bosses showed a ‘softer’ side as they revealed the ‘Teddy Rescue’ web page. The web page shows pictures of soft toys that have been left on public transport, in the hope to one day reunite them with their rightful owners. Although the campaign launched in November 2014, not a single teddy has been claimed, prompting a call for the general public’s help. Using #teddyrescue across social media platforms they hope to increase the success rate and bring a lot of smiles to children around the country.
To celebrate its 30th birthday, Ryanair has launched a ‘Travel is Blue and Yellow’ competition. To enter post a photo on Instagram that best captures the essence of travel and holidays, using the hashtags #BlueandYellow and #Ryanair. There is one catch, the predominant colours in the photo must be blue and yellow. The winner will receive a €50 flight voucher and ‘instafame’ from appearing on Ryanair’s Instagram account.
Long-winded tweeters rejoice as Twitter has finally announced that it will be removing the 140 character limit on direct messages. Users will be able to send messages that are up to 10,000 characters and have the option to include images and emoji to get their point across in a more expressive way.
