BlueSky brings in new boss
Tour operator technology supplier BlueSky Travel Systems has appointed Mark Fallon as managing director.
Fallon is charged with overseeing implementation of the company’s ongoing project with Thomas Cook as well as bringing in new business.
The Manchester-based company has already doubled the size of the team to 90 people in recent months and plans to recruit a further 20 people.
The majority of new positions have been created across the product design and development divisions as well as in customer support.
Fallon said: “The Thomas Cook contract has created some momentum for us to grow significantly very quickly. Other interest parties within the travel space are now paying attention.”
He added that the company would be announcing its progress with Thomas Cook in the next few weeks as well as details of a deal with another ‘household name.’
Fallon joins BlueSky from IBM where he gained considerable experience in large-scale integration projects in the financial sector.
He also indicated decisions on MyTravel’s technology were imminent following the merger with Thomas Cook.
