Bmi adds flights to help clear backlog
Bmi has been laying on extra flights and adding capacity to help relieve the pressure on passengers hit by unofficial action at British Airways.
Bmi increased capacity on services to Glasgow and Edinburgh with the use of larger aircraft and is planning extra services to Scotland to meet demand.
An additional service to Mumbai in India was planned on Sunday.
Chief executive Nigel Turner said: “There’s a high demand for seats out of Heathrow following the unfortunate situation with BA staff and we are doing all we can to help ensure travellers can reach theiur destination by increasing capacity and laying on additional services where possible and operationally practical.”
