Bmi regional changes bag policy

Bmi regional has increased its baggage allowance from 20kgs to 23kgs, bringing it into line with British Airways.

At the same time, the airline has introduced pre-paid seat selection, enabling passengers to choose their seat up to 48 hours in advance for a fee of £8 for a standard seat or £15 for one in the exit row.

Additional bags and sports equipment can also be pre-booked online. Extra bags of up to 23 kgs cost £40 each way whiles sports equipment costs £45 each way.

Extra luggage can be added via the ‘Manage My Booking’ section of the website up to four hours in advance of travel.

Additional bags can also be booked via the contact centre for a set fee or at airports for £80 each way, and sports equipment for £45 each way. Any excess baggage will be taken at airports only and remain at £10 per excess kilo.

Chief commercial officer Jochen Schnadt said: "These changes are all part of our strategy to enhance and simplify our product offering.

"With our focus on quality and convenience of service and carefully listening to our customers, we believe that our new baggage and seating policy will give customers greater flexibility, greater choice and make travelling with us even easier."
