Boing looses big-time to Airbus at Paris Air Show
At this weeks Paris Air Show, Airbus stands out as the “winner” in its ongoing battle against Boeing. The show is one of the aircraft industry’s top events for signing large aircraft orders.
On the first day of the show, Airbus landed Qatar Airways in a huge deal for 60 of Airbus’ new A350 model over Boeing’s 787. The order was significant as Airbus, only had orders for 10 of the A350 prior to that, while Boing had orders for 266 of its competing 787 model. As a small concession, Qatar did order 20 Boeing 777s.
Yesterday, Airbus won an order for 100 new A320 jets from IndiGo, a new Indian low-cost airline, worth $6 billion, increasing the to over 200 the total number of aircraft sales so far at Show
So far today, the last day of the show, Airbus announced Mexico’s ABC Aerolineas airline plans to purchase 10 Airbus A320s.
