Brand USA gets reauthorized through 2027
Tourism marketing organization Brand USA finally got congressional approval to continue its efforts to boost inbound tourism.
With the current authorization due to expire next year, its future is now secured through 2027 thanks to the new a reauthorization package.
It has been applauded by the tourism industry after a lengthy advocacy campaign.
"Brand USA’s work to boost international visitation is absolutely essential to the U.S. trade balance, and the fact that it operates without sending American taxpayers a bill make it a model public-private partnership that delivers proven results," said U.S. Travel Association president and CEO Roger Dow.
Dow praised the work of lawmakers such as Sen. Roy Blunt, Amy Klobuchar, Cory Gardner and Catherine Cortez Masto for their work as co-sponsors of Brand USA reauthorization in the Senate and House.
"The more than 15 million Americans whose livelihoods depend on the travel industry owe them a debt of gratitude," Dow said.
Travel industry advocates from every state had been lobbying for support to ensure Brand USA’s future by engaging with their elected representatives and spreading the word on social channels, online and traditional media.
