Monday, 23 Jun, 2006 0

Leading political and Government sources confirmed to The Mole yesterday that Greg Smith, the man responsible for shutting down Australian Capital Territory Tourism and slashing the ACT tourism budget as part of a review of Government departments in the ACT, has been appointed by Premier Rann and the South Australian Government to undertake what is believed is a similar, all of Government review.

The role, budget and location in Government of the SATC is understood to be included in that review.

Mr Smith’s review in ACT also resulted in the termination of the CEO and nine senior staff.

The Mole has been told that the Consultants’ initial meeting with Bill Spurr, CEO of SATC included comments by the Consultants to the effect that “you have seen what happened in ACT…………….”.  Mr Spurr was not available for comment prior to The Mole filing this story.

So the industry of South Australia, if you want to ensure that SATC has a chance of survival ,The Mole suggest you get your lobbying done now, before it is too late!
