Brexit Brits may need visa to visit EU
British travellers may need a visa to travel to the European Union after Brexit.
France and Germany are both backing a similar system to the US’ Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) visa scheme.
Travellers to the US from countries including the UK and France obtain a visa waiver online for a fee.
At present, British travellers require a passport to travel throughout other EU member states, but do not have to apply for visas.
More details about the EU’s Travel Information and Authorisation Scheme (ETIAS) will be revealed later this year.
