Jeremy Brinkworth has been appointed Head of Business Tourism at VisitBritain, replacing Adam Bates.

Mr Brinkworth previously held the post between 1998 and 2000, but then was promoted to Head of International Product Marketing, responsible for developing overseas marketing campaigns.

He will now report to International Marketing Director Kenny Boyle.

Commenting on his return to a business tourism position, Mr Brinkworth said: “We believe there is huge potential to develop the business tourism market further – especially in the premium sectors of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.”

Meanwhile the London Tourist Board and Convention Bureau has been renamed Visit London, in line with other recent tourism name changes such as VisitBritain (formerly the British Tourist Authority) and VisitScotland (previously the Scottish Tourist Board).
