Brisbane airport extends SITA technology agreement
Brisbane Airport has extended its long term partnership with aviation tech provider SITA.
A new five-year agreement has been sealed with SITA to extend its technology solutions for passenger, baggage and airport services as Brisbane Airport continues its growth and transformation.
This includes SITA AirportConnect Open, which is a common use platform and self-service bag drop and check-in for the airport’s 32 airlines.
These airlines serve 81 domestic and international destinations.
"BAC has chosen SITA as an ongoing partner because they share our values around collaboration, innovation and a focus on the customer. This focus will help us on our overarching gateway strategy and help us to continually improve as we focus on becoming a world class airport," said airport general manager of operations, Stephen Goodwin.
The agreement extends a working partnership with SITA which has lasted more than 20 years.
Brisbane is Australia’s third-largest airport, handling more than 23 million passengers a year.
The airport was the first in the country to launch a self-service bag drop and the first introduction of biometric tech SITA Smart Path.
SITA has technology agreements with all major Australian airports including Melbourne, Adelaide and the Gold Coast, and has a presence at more than 1,000 airports around the world.
