Travel agents might look to an article in the Sun newspaper to see how they can offer that all-important added value to customers in the form of sound travel advice.
The next time a customer books travel to the Middle East, perhaps it’s wise to warn them never to give the finger to airport staff on arrival.
The Sun reports today that 34-year-old Brit Paul Anthony was arrested just minutes after landing in Dubai after making the obscene gesture to a female airport employee when she refused to let him use a customer services phone.
He is also said to have sworn at the Muslim women in front of her colleagues.
A court has sentenced him to two months in jail for indecency and insulting the employee. Anthony, who was described in court as a UN worker on a stopover en route to Asia, has now launched an appeal.
