British Airways unveils two new short-haul destinations for winter 2025/26

Saturday, 06 Sep, 2025 1

British Airways will expand its short-haul network this winter with two brand new destinations. BA Euroflyer, British Airways’ Gatwick-based subsidiary, will operate year-round services to the capital of Morocco, Rabat, as well as to Austrian city break destination, Graz for the 2025 winter season.

The launch of Graz brings British Airways’ Austrian destinations to four, joining Vienna, Salzburg, and Innsbruck. The new year-round route will be served three times per week.

Graz and Rabat connecting to oneworld

BA arrival is of significant importance for Graz. According to the airport’s authority, the London route is a long-time wish. “London was by far the largest market for us without direct flights. The scheduled flights with BA Euroflyer to Gatwick are enormously important for the economy, industry, and tourism in our region,” said Wolfgang Grimus, Managing Director of Graz Airport.

Both business travelers and vacation guests will benefit from the new flight connection. Additionally, our passengers will have access to connecting flights to selected long-haul destinations and also to a second airline alliance.

Graz is already well connected to the rest of the world through Star Alliance hubs in Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna and Zurich. The city lost however in 2024 its connection to Amsterdam, Skyteam’s hub.

Alongside Marrakech and Agadir, Rabat will become the third destination in Morocco served by Britain’s flag carrier. Flights to the Moroccan capital will operate twice per week on Wednesdays and Sundays, using an Airbus A320 from London Gatwick. The service begins on 5 November 2025. Rabat is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, architecture and distinctive blend of tradition and modernity.

Both flights include a Club Europe (business class) option. Customers traveling in Club Europe with BA Euroflyer will have access to British Airways’ Club lounge which has recently undergone a full refresh, with a brand-new bar serving cocktails and beverages, new decor, and furniture.

In a further development, BA Cityflyer, will introduce flights from London City Airport to Madrid in Spain, starting on 1 December 2025.

Long-haul plans for summer 2026

British Airways will also add new frequencies to its long-haul network rather than opening new destinations for the summer 2026.

  • Bangkok

Following the popular addition of Bangkok last year, British Airways has confirmed that it will begin operating year-round flights from London Gatwick. From summer 2026, services to and from Bangkok will operate three times per week. During winter, the airline will operate six weekly flights. Overall, the flag carrier is set to offer nearly 60,000 additional seats for customers looking to visit Bangkok next year. With the airline’s recent expansion of its codeshare partnership with Bangkok Airways, customers can now connect seamlessly across the Pacific to Phuket, Phnom Penh and beyond.

  • Jamaica

An additional weekly service to Kingston, Jamaica, from London Gatwick has been announced. British Airways will fly four flights per week for the summer 2026 season. The airline is consequently adding over 300 seats weekly for potential travellers.

  • USA

British Airways will reintroduce its double-daily service from London Heathrow to Miami International Airport. Additionally, the airline will reintroduce its daily service to Dallas-Fort Worth. It will also upgrade its services from LHR to Las Vegas from 10 to 13 flights/weekto San Diego and Austin, flying to both destinations 14 times per week. To New York, BA will from now only fly from London Heathrow, offering 9 daily frequencies. The transfer to LHR is improving connectivity for travelers with optimal onward connection times to Europe, the US, and further afield.

  • Middle East

British Airways has announced that it will offer a daily service from Heathrow to Bahrain. It more than doubles the number of times it flies there per week, offering business and leisure travelers much more choice with dates when booking. Saudi Arabia is also due to enjoy more BA frequencies. Jeddah will get 5 flights per week and Riyadh gets an upgrading to 14 per week services. Finally, BA will also fly 14 times a week to Doha, Qatar.
