British Airways pilot investigated for sexual assault
A British Airways pilot is under investigation for an alleged sex assault on a flight attendant.
The alleged incident happened in the far East during a layover.
The flight attendant reported it to local police.
The pilot was detained and questioned but has since returned to the UK.
Both BA employees were taken off duty and returned home separately.
A new flight crew was sent out to take over.
Few details have emerged but UK tabloids reported a BA crisis team was sent out to Asia to investigate.
The accused pilot has been suspended until inquiries are complete.
The Sun quoted a source saying: “This serious episode has disturbed many within BA.”
“As there is an ongoing police investigation it would be inappropriate to comment,” British Airways said.
