British holidaymakers name their dream destinations
India’s Taj Mahal has topped a poll of British holidaymakers’ favourite landmarks, winning 35% of the votes.
Niagara Falls came second in the survey of 1,400 Britons. It won 14% of the votes.
The Grand Canyon came third with 8%, closely followed by Mount Everest with 7% and the Great Wall of China with 6%.
Australia was named as the number one dream holiday destination by 18% of those who took part in the Away Holidays poll, followed by the USA with 15% of the votes.
New Zealand came third with 11% and Mauritius fourth with 9%. Thailand and the Maldives shared fifth place, each gaining 8% of the votes.
