British holidays blamed for s Covid surge in Benidorm
British tourists returning en masse to Benidorm are taking heat for a spike in Covid cases. Benidorm is now placed in Spain’s ‘extreme risk’ Covid category.
Ana Barcelo, regional health minister is pointing the finger at the influx of British holidaymakers over the past few weeks, stating cases started to jump ‘after October 5 when more tourists began to arrive from the UK.’ Brits have been flocking to Benidorm again since travel restrictions were eased earlier this month.
