British pilot fined for groping flight attendant
A British pilot has been fined for allegedly groping a flight attendant on board a flight from Hong Kong to London. According to a report in the Hong Kong newspaper, South China Morning Post, 44-year-old Robin Taylor denied the charges but was fined 1,000 Hong Kong dollars (about GBP85). Taylor, who works for Cathay Pacific, was off duty when he harassed the un-named woman in September 2002. The court reportedly heard that he put a hand under her blouse while she was reaching for something in the overhead lockers, and that the woman told Taylor: “I’m not the type of girl you expect. If you ever do it again my husband will kill you.” The magistrate told Taylor that he was “fully aware of his act” even though he “may have been a bit drunk”. According to the online news service Ananova, which also reports the story, Taylor is still working for Cathay Pacific and the airline has “dealt with the flight attendant’s complaints”.
