British tourist killed in central America
A British tourist was shot dead in Honduras while trying to flee from armed robbers.
33-year-old Omer Kaya from Essex was shot in the neck in San Pedro Sula, the central American country’s second city, said the BBC.
Police in Honduras said they were looking for a man and a woman suspected of the killing.
The Foreign Office said it was aware of the death of a British national.
Mr Kaya was apparently walking through colonial Trejo, a residential area outside the city centre, taking photos and video, when two people got out of a taxi and tried to steal his camera.
He resisted and ran away, but as he tried to escape he was shot, said police.
