British Travel Awards voting extended
British Travel Awards has announced a one-week extension to the voting period for the 2021/2022 awards.
Consumer voting will now close at midnight on 9 October, with the winners announced at a gala awards night taking place in London on 29 November.
Over 200,000 consumers have already cast their votes in support of their favourite travel companies, however most nominees suspended promotional activity during the period of national mourning for HM Queen Elizabeth II.
BTA director of events and partnerships, Lorraine Barnes Burton, said: “Understandably many nominees have not felt it appropriate to lobby for votes during the period of national mourning. The one-week extension could tip the balance, as many awards are currently neck and neck in the race to claim a coveted British Travel Award.”
“These last few weeks of consumer voting can be a game changer; historically the most votes are placed during this period.”
The awards presentation evening on Tuesday 29 November will be held at Battersea Evolution in London’s Battersea Park.
