Two Britons are reported to have been arrested in a popular Kenya beach resort by anti-terror police.
The pair detained in the resort of Diani on the country’s south coast ,had been carrying hand grenades, claimed a report by Sky News.
A spokesman for the Foreign Office said: "We’re looking into reports of two British nationals detained in Kenya.
"We stand ready to offer consular assistance."
Also today, Moscow police arrested 14 people believed to be Islamists terrorists in a block of flats in the city where they were allegedly in possession of bombs, hand grenades and guns. The arrests come just two months ahead of the Winter Olympics in Russia’s Black Sea resort of Sochi.
The arrests in Kenya come two months after the Westgate shopping mall siege in Kenya’s capital Nairobi in which 67 people, including six Britons, were killed.
Earlier this month four men appeared in a Nairobi court charged with "supporting a terrorist group" in connection with the attack in September.
