Broadband more accessible for agents
Telewest Travel says its broadband product has become more available to travel agents.
The claim comes after BT made improvements to its service by lifting a restriction on the distance between a business and the BT ADSL exchange. The restriction was previously in place because the further away the business was from the exchange, the more the service would be subject to disruption.
Now this restriction has been removed due to improved technology so effectively it doesn’t matter how far away the business is from the exchange – the quality of the connection should be consistent.
It means more travel agents can get access to Telewest’s Endeavour online service that includes Viewdata, GDS, email, internet and various travel-related services like weather and currency exchange.
Head of Travel at Telewest Business, Keith Webber said: ” 90% of all new connections are now broadband, but a number of customers have been restricted in their use of this by their physical location. By removing these restrictions any travel agent can now benefit.”
