BTA signs broadcast media partner
The British Travel Awards (BTAs) has signed an agreement with Made Television, operator of city TV stations, to be its exclusive media broadcast partner.
The agreement will see Made Television integrate the annual award show into its schedule, create original programming in the lead-up to the awards ceremony and help drive people to vote.
It will film the Awards ceremony in London on November 23 and broadcast it in a two-hour special programme the following day.
Coverage will include stage award presentations and also montages and interviews with travel industry people attending the event.
In addition, during the BTAs voting period, which runs until September 30, Made Television will produce and broadcast a series of standalone, short-form one-minute features.
These will be shown at regular intervals through the day across Made Television’s network of channels, as well as online, via its social media channels.
"This deal with Made Television takes the media exposure we offer companies taking part in the British Travel Awards to a new level," said BTA chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton.
"Last year more than a quarter of a million households participated in the consumer voting stage of the BTAs and with the added audience of Made Television viewers we expect significant growth in voter numbers, which is good news for the brands participating in the BTAs."
Made Television’s current network covers Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds and Tyne & Wear.
