Bula before you even leave home!

With most airlines outfitting their crew in a range of sometimes rather bizarre uniforms and offering you food that attempts, (most often failing) to reflect their county of origin, few airlines manage to absorb the destination experience right into the flight to the destination, before you even arrive there!

Well, Air Pacific is one of the few that succeeds in achieving this, with the holiday experience to Fiji commencing right from when you step on board the aircraft.

While The Mole was flying to Fiji to report live and on location on the current post coup situation, when The Mole stepped on board it was like stepping right into Fiji, with a very bright and cheerful “Bula” greeting all passengers on boarding.

Air Pacific has been flying in the South Pacific since the late 40s, commencing regular domestic services in 1951, operating a range of aircraft, with currently an international fleet of two 747-400’s, one 737-300’s, two 737-800’s and a 767-300ER with most people also surprised to learn that Qantas owns 46.05% of Air Pacific with the Fiji Government holding 51%.

Air Pacific offers two classes of service, Tabua, which is Business Class and Pacific Voyager which is Economy, with both offering seat pitch comparable to Qantas and other carriers, but the difference in flying Air Pacific though is the quality of welcome and service with nothing too much trouble at all and the crew in typical Fijian style, ready to chat and tell you about their country and tips for your stay, while serving very good food indeed.

The Mole travelled on Air Pacific’s 747-400’s which offer good legroom in Pacific Voyager and excellent legroom in Tabua, with all seats throughout the aircraft having personal entertainment screens and controls.

To check out Air Pacific’s very special range of Bula fares, with adult fares including all taxes and surcharges as low as $579 and $199 for children, round trip from Australia, please visit:  http://www.airpacific.com/default.aspx?sid=specialFares&pid=specialFaresAustralia
