Business Travel Direct sets up CSR consultancy

Business Travel Direct has set up an independent consultancy arm to cover areas of responsible travel.

Planit Consulting comes with the passing of the new Corporate Manslaughter Act and the “imperative” to become a sustainable and responsible business.

The offshoot will be available for the travel management company’s clients to create practical plans and processes that align their business objectives with best practice traveller solutions.

Business Travel Direct CEO Peter Reglar said: “We wanted our clients to have access to the same excellent resources and expertise that we have used in developing our own CSR policy and related business processes.

“Planit Consulting was formed to bring together our experience and knowledge in this area in an straightforward accessible way for current and new clients.”

The services offered will range from the consultative early stages of planning the approach to the full implementation of policy. Planit Consulting has three distinct tool kits available to support implementation in Sustainable Business, Responsible Business and Responsible Travel.

Jennie Beament of Planit Consulting said the business had been created to help clients unravel the latest challenges that the new legislation adds to the sometimes complex area of sustainability.

“We know from listening to our business travel clients that there is a willingness to seize this opportunity and make a positive impact.  However, companies don’t always have the necessary skills and knowledge base to develop effective policies,” she said.

“Planit Consulting can share best practice knowledge and guide companies towards developing their individual policies.”
