Businesses finding the recession beneficial!

Tuesday, 03 Jun, 2009 0

It’s not just the “green brigade” who have seen the light and adopted green practices. Businesses that are keen to beat the recession are realising that “going green” can help them grow at a time when other businesses are struggling to survive!

“And it is easy to achieve” says Jessica Billington, Marketing Manager and head of the Green Team at Penventon Park Hotel, Cornwall. “All it takes is some planning, a little effort and partnering with a great company like M&A Environmental”.

She says “we are continually reviewing how the running our business impacts on the environment and trying everything reasonable to implement systems that will minimize our impact while reducing our costs. We have a green team which has introduced new water-saving showerheads, energy saving lights and more, but the thing that has been most beneficial has been switching our cleaning products to M&A. Comparing February 2008 with 2009 we saved £398.23 and by comparing this March with last, we found we had saved another £524.56!” It’s always a real joy working with M&A and we are proud to be associated with them”

Stuart Doderer, Managing Director and founder of M&A says “we’ve been delighted to work with Penventon and to help them achieve real benefits for their business”.

“In these difficult times, getting the balance between high quality delivery while also reducing costs is more important than ever. Particularly for hospitality, accomodation, contract, nursing and educational businesses where high standards of cleanliness, although not the sexiest of topics, can be one of the things that, if done wrong, can effectively ruin a business”.

But, continues Stuart “it’s not just about saving money, by providing help and advice to our customers, introducing better technologies, adopting modern techniques and using our products we can help change the way businesses manage their costs while at the same time, reducing their impact on the environment”.

Combining these approaches can genuinely make a difference and ensure the long term future of both our businesses and our environment.

We could end up looking back at these difficult times and see this recession as a positive event that provided a genuine catalyst for change.
