CAA expects busiest ever Christmas for air travel
The UK Civil Aviation Authority is forecasting the busiest Christmas holiday period ever for air travel.
Travellers are being warned to plan ahead before jetting home or going overseas on a festive holiday.
Selina Chadha, CAA Group Director for Consumers and Markets, said: “We are on track for the biggest Christmas getaway in history. With the potential for bad weather, make sure you check for disruption including on your route to the airport.”
The CAA says passenger numbers for the full year 2025 are on track to surpass 300 million for the first time.
It said a record 90 million passengers flew from UK airports between July and September
For the first nine months of 20205 there were 231 million.
Last year 22 million flew from UK airports in December.
