Cadogan capitalizes on fame of ‘Portugeezer’
Cadogan Holidays is claiming the popularity of Big Brother 5’s winner has led to a surge in demand for trips to Portugal.
Since the Portuguese transsexual, simply known as Nadia, won the title, the Southampton-based operator said it had received a number of calls from people wanting to visit the destination and enjoy its flamboyant culture.
“Sales were already up following the heightened interest generated by the Euro 2004 Championships held there earlier this summer, but the added publicity of the BB star has further enhanced the appeal of the destination,” said a Cadogan spokeswoman.
Cadogan recommended the four and five star hotels in Portugal, which Nadia will be able to afford after scooping £63,500 in prize money. Three-night packages in five-star hotels cost from £630 per person from September 1st to October 19, including scheduled flights from Gatwick.
