Canadian-based tour operator expanding offerings
Transat Holidays, which says it is the biggest one-stop tour operator in Canada, has introduced a slate of new products as well as new destinations.
“Increasingly, we’re relying on research to build our product line and to deliver what people want,” said Denise Heffron, vice president.
Transat is particularly bullish on Europe. Ms Heffron said surveys showed 11% of Canadians planned to visit Europe, up from six% last year.
Transat now has a 100-page brochure outlining its British and European offerings, up from 68 pages last year. Transit has 77 direct weekly Air Transat flights from seven Canadian cities to 27 European getaways.
Travel agents can find out more about the programs from an expanded Agent Guide kit that includes a CD-Rom. Travel seminars are also planned and early booking bonuses are offered through 31 March, according to company officials.
