CAPA to launch AeroPark India
NEW DELHI – Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) is in the advanced stages of launching the CAPA AeroPark, a global best practice aviation training campus in India.
The campus will focus around an aviation environment research centre.
The facility is designed to service the entire spectrum of operational and educational training requirements for airlines, airports, ANS providers, government and suppliers.
It will be developed with support from international financiers and the world’s leading aviation training providers.
“There is an emerging global shortage of skilled human resources in the industry, which is particularly acute in rapidly emerging markets such as India and neighbouring regions,†said Peter Harbison, executive chairman of CAPA.
“CAPA AeroPark is being established to address this critical issue, all within the context of ensuring leadership in the area of climate change and aviation.â€
The campus will include academies for pilot training, air traffic control, engineering and maintenance, air traffic control, airport operations, airline executive management, cabin and ground crew.
Each of the training centres within the AeroPark will be managed by the world’s most respected aviation brands in their respective disciplines.
Harbison added, “by working only with the leading global training providers, we intend to establish and maintain quality standards at the highest international levels, which are unequalled elsewhere.â€
An advisory council of eminent aviation experts from around the world is being assembled to monitor performance and ensure that best practice procedures are adhered to. Discussions are already well advanced with several globally renowned training providers.
For training providers, CAPA AeroPark offers a walk-in operation, with no hassles related to land acquisition or construction. CAPA and its team offer assistance with regulatory and licensing issues as well as with umbrella marketing support and management of the facility.
CAPA AeroPark will be located in a landscaped park setting of around 50 acres, and designed with green credentials in mind.
Short listed locations in Bangalore, Navi Mumbai and Pune are currently being evaluated and the final location will be announced in early 2009. The first phase of the CAPA AeroPark is scheduled to open in early 2010.
