Carefree Travel goes Carbon Responsible
“We’ve been been committed to protecting the planet since 2002” Said Dan Carraro of Carefree “Be it through sustainable tourism schemes with organisations such as Oxfam and Green Globe or by taking steps to limit our direct impact to the environment through “green practices” in the workplace, including offsetting our staff flights”
Carefree has now partnered with carbon offsetting company “Climate Care” and are now able to offer carbon offsetting to its customers. This is done through an optional, surcharge whereby the carbon footprint of its customers travel is calculated and its impact on the environment neutralised through investing the money into a variety of projects such as forest restoration and renewable power, above and beyond Kyoto protocol.
“We are ensured the highest standards of environmental integrity in these projects through guidance from Climate Care and in turn though their Environmental Steering Committee which includes NGOs such as WWF and Forum for the Future” added Mr Carraro
