Caribbean islands launch online agent training

An online training programme for agents has been created by the Tourism Development Company of Trinidad & Tobago.

The Take Some Time Out campaign on www.learntnt.com features six interactive modules, enabling agents to test their knowledge of the dual-island destination’s tourism offering.

For home and flexible workers, the programme has the added benefit of being accessible 24 hours a day and allows in-depth training on both islands.

Agents completing the programme will be enrolled into a club, receive a gift and entry into a prize draw for an opportunity to win a place on the next “Take Some Time Out” trip, the Trinidad & Tobago agent’s familiarisation visits that take place twice a year.

TDC of Trinidad & Tobago sales and training manager Andrew Hillier said: “The new training programme really is a one-stop shop for agents wishing to improve their knowledge of these beautiful islands.

“They will learn about the variety of accommodation from rustic B&Bs to five-star luxury, the diverse activities such as diving, parasailing and horse riding, the eco-tourism offering including leatherback turtle conservation and extensive bird watching as well as all the necessary practical information.

“Most of all, we’ve worked hard to make sure it’s fun and interactive – much like the islands themselves.”

Agents should register at www.learntnt.com to receive a support pack including a workbook, background information, facts and figures and maps to accompany their learning.
