Carlson launches home-based cruise option
The Carlson Travel Franchise Group launched what it said was its first home-based cruise only option, SeaMaster Cruises.
“Well over 25% of all legitimate sellers of travel in the US are now opting to base themselves in their homes,” said Roger E. Block, CTC, executive vice president of the Carlson Travel Franchise Group.
He said the cruise line is on a growth pattern of 8.4% a year. Mr Block said of the new enterprise:
“We expect to substantially grow the overall number of cruise customers.”
He said benefits of SeaMaster will include:
—Training and support that includes year-round seminars, net-conferencing training and a support desk.
—“Bang for the buck” marketing programs that include direct mail with personalized options.
—CruiseBOS, a proprietary selling system that is the technological backbone of the franchise. Agents are connected 24 hours a day via a content-rich extranet web site that serves as a one-stop shop.
