Carlson predicts price hikes in Latin America
Hotel, fights, rail, and car rental prices are to rise next year, with Latin America seeing the biggest hike.
According to the global 2012 Travel Price Forecast released by Carlson Wagonlit Travel, airfares in Latin America are due to increase most with flights to Colombia rising 11.4% due to increasing demand and limited supply.
The business travel expert states Brazil is expected to see hotel rate increases of more than 24% in the first half of 2012 and up to 34% in the second half.
Asia and the Pacific regions will be more stable as they are not affected by economic downturn as much as other parts of the world. Also, the rise in the number of low cost carriers in the region should mean airfares will only rise by 3.8%.
Europe is also expected to have flatter pricing with airfares only increasing by up to 3.7% due to economic challenges.
High speed rail pricing is set to increase and the UK is expected to see some of the highest hotel price increases due to the 2012 Olympic Games.
