Carnival celebrating record cruisers
Carnival Cruise Lines says it expects to carry a record 3.3 million passengers with an unprecedented number of voyages this year.
Company officials cited several developments as key to the record:
• Carnival has seen capacity increase in five of its US homeports.
• New, year-round programs have been introduced from Mobile, Ala, and Jacksonville, Fla.
• Carnival is offering its first-ever Mediterranean cruises.
In addition, this year Carnival is operating more than 1,300 cruises aboard its 20 “Fun Ships” departing from Miami, Tampa, New Orleans, Galveston, Texas, and Long Beach, Calif.
“The unprecedented number of cruise offerings, combined with a high quality shipboard experience influenced by the line’s wide-ranging ‘Today’s Carnival’ product enhancement strategy adds up to an anticipated record-breaking year,” said President and CEO Bob Dickinson.
